Set in a 200 year old forest, Castlecomer's course provides a great test of golf combined with breath taking views of the local terrain. With the development of this course completed in 2003, it is clear to everyone at Castlecomer Golf Club that Pat Ruddy has designed a unique Golf Course. The nine new holes have sand based fairways with irrigation built in which ensures top class, year round playing conditions whatever the weather.

MacDonagh Junction is the new city quarter in Kilkenny combining a mix of high quality retail, residential, business and leisure developments, adjacent to Kilkenny’s MacDonagh Railway Station. The new city Quarter is bringing leading Irish and international retailers to the city. Restaurants, performance spaces and leisure facilities including a bowling centre are also planned. The concept of 'A Rural Experience' is to ensure that both visitors and locals alike, have an opportunity to see some of the lesser known but still significantly important sites in and around the county of Kilkenny. Kilkenny City itself, has an abundance of history and culture. This is all marketed very enthusiastically and is not to be missed. However, if you also crave the beauty and originality of more rural sites, along with lots of fresh air and a little gentle exercise, why not sit back and relax in the care of one of our experienced tour guides! A Rural Experience also offer a private car and driver service on request. This service is available for day tours and longer breaks in Ireland.

Callan Golf Club was founded in 1929. In 1994, a new clubhouse was built and the club extended their golf course from 12 holes to 18 holes in 1999. Callan Golf Club offers a particular welcome to visiting Societies, Groups and individual visitors. Societies and groups can be accommodated throughout the year including Saturdays and there are very few prohibited days for bookings. For groups of more than 20, special discount rates are available.
