The Organic Centre is located in the unspoilt countryside of North Leitrim just eight miles from Manorhamilton. The centre was established in 1995 as a non profit making company with charitable status. The aim of the centre is to provide training, information and advice on organic farming, gardening and sustainable ways of living. Our demonstration gardens which contain a heritage garden, a childrens garden, a herb garden, a willow sculpture area, a sunflower maze and many other attractions are open to the public. Manorhamilton Castle and Heritage Centre is open all the year round to the general public and to organised tours. On display are a permanent exhibition including artefacts from the 17th century, replica period costumes and furniture, a Castle model and other interesting items and information. A tour of the recently restored Castle ruins and grounds can be taken - conducted by an experienced guide. The colourful story of the Castle, it inhabitants and the local area will be recounted in the course of this informative tour.
