Since its first meeting in 1920, the racecourse in Navan, County Meath, has come on in leaps and bounds. Its fantastic course and challenging uphill finish continue to make Navan a strong contender in the Irish world of racing. Staging flat and jump racing, but more famous for the latter, it continues to attract some of the finest horses, riders and trainers in the country, not to mention the discerning punters. It offers just the right mix of events to keep thing interesting: family days out, Ladies Day and even a Country & Western evening in June – perfect for a staff outing or just for kicking your heels up.

The Venue Theatre opened its doors to the public in
2006, and each year successfully entertains thousands of people from County Meath, County Dublin and from all over Ireland and the World. The theatre presents dance and music, as well as the best of local and national professional and amateur companies. Our vibrant programme also includes puppetry, multimedia, clowning and comedy. Billie O’Shea and her team offer a wide range of courses at the modern purpose built facility located in Co. Meath and only 15 minutes from nearby Castleknock. With a friendly approach to teaching hands-on cookery and with a variety of themes to choose from at the 1 Day Workshops you’re sure to be inspired. Our cookery demonstrations provide tips and advice on easy cooking methods and recipe ideas in a relaxed and friendly environment. So whether you’re a gourmet cook, a novice in the kitchen or simply looking for new ideas, we have a course to suit you.

A fantastic, modern Parkland Course which criss-crosses the River Blackwater makes use of two islands. Headfort House, built in 1780, and mature trees provide a stunning backdrop to some of the holes. Established in 1928, Headfort Golf Club is one of the finest parkland complexes in the Country. Boasting a 36 hole layout, both courses have beautiful trees which enhance this picturesque setting. Christ O’Connor Jr., the designer of the new course, has made maximum use of the two islands on the Blackwater, the surrounding forests and the magnificent, mature, broadleaf trees dotted around the land. This new course promises to be “The Jewel in the Crown” in Irish golfing circles.

Standing on 10 acres of land in the heart of Meath and with access to a further 150 acres, Kells Equestrian Centre accommodates competitive and pleasure riding with indoor and outdoor facilities. We are at the centre of hunting territory, close to five first rate packs and their associated Pony Clubs. For a more leisurely ride there are hacks along quiet country roads in this heritage-rich area.
