Lissadell House and Gardens is situated on the shores of Sligo Bay, 7 km north of Sligo on the Bundoran/Donegal Road, and is very clearly signposted from both Sligo, and Bundoran. The historic and literary associations of Lissadell and the natural beauty of its setting with sea, woodland and mountains makes Lissadell one of the North West’s premier tourism attractions. Lissadell was the birthplace of Constance Markievicz, one of the leaders of the 1916 Rising, and was also a favourite retreat for the poet William Butler Yeats.
